Slate-Bellied Cowfish

Danger: Minimal

Overview

The Slate-Bellied Cowfish is a small, heavily armoured fish that follows divers and circles diving bells in what researchers believe is playful behaviour. It has an unusually strong sense for unrefined Sanguinite: once it detects the mineral on your person it bites and rams you until you drop it or get away. With no Sanguinite on hand it is virtually harmless, and it navigates poorly, so fleeing works.

Notes

  • The currency-check monster: hauling ore is exactly when it becomes dangerous.
  • Found near Cragmire's mineral deposits.

Other Saturation Diving entities

  • Vampire Coral — Coral with sharp spines that prick divers and absorb blood. Just walk around it.
  • Brineglass — A nearly invisible bacterial colony that forms ice-like, zero-traction sheets on the seafloor.
  • Fire Worm — A narwhal-like worm with one large tooth. Easily angered — leave it alone.
  • Cutie Pi — A social octopus that waves at divers — until loud noise sets it off.
